Welcome to the InnCoCells project

Nancy Group Photo

InnCoCells is a Horizon 2020 project launched in 2021 aiming to develop innovative plant-based production processes for the commercial exploitation of scientifically validated cosmetic ingredients using profitable and sustainable cell cultures, hairy roots, aeroponic cultivation, and greenhouse/field cultivation. The photograph above was taken at our seventh project meeting in Nancy, France, May 2024, and includes InnCoCells consortium partners as well as some members of our Stakeholder Group and Scientific Advisory Board.

We have recently published a third brochure describing progress at the half-way stage of the InnCoCells project.

Our second brochure describes the first 18 months of the InnCoCells project and the progress we have made towards our ambitious objectives.

Our first brochure introducing the InnCoCells project is also still available. It provides key facts and figures, outlines the concept, objectives, and organization of the project, describes some of its wider (non-technological) activities, and summarizes the partners involved and their roles.

The InnCoCells project will develop scientifically validated cosmetic ingredients derived from sustainable cell cultures and plants cultivated in the greenhouse, field or in aeroponic facilities.

We are developing production processes based on plants, plant cells and agricultural waste streams as well as assays for the scientific validation of cosmetic ingredients.

We are engaging with multiple stakeholders in the cosmetics industry to promote the sustainability and efficacy of our cosmetic ingredients.
